The course follows an event from the beginning: feasibility studies for a bid, then event planning treated as project management. It covers the logistics of major events, risk, safety and emergency management, crowd management, and security at venues, before moving to facilities, ticketing systems, volunteer management at the Olympic Games, broadcast operations, and honest economic impact assessment afterwards.

It suits event and operations staff, venue teams, federation and organising-committee volunteers, and students who want to see how the pieces of a matchday or a multi-sport games fit together.
