Test and Measurement in Sport

A free short course by Sportal Corporate — not a credit-bearing university award.

2h 33m of video14 videos20 written lessons

The tools, equipment and protocols used to collect sports performance data — anthropometry, strength, speed, agility, jump testing, GPS and wearables.

The course separates test, measurement and evaluation, explains why we measure at all, and shows how a test battery is built for a specific sport. It then works through the protocols one at a time: anthropometry to the ISAK international standard, the sit and reach, the grip dynamometer, the sprint test, the T-test, timing gates and measurement error, the countermovement jump, force plates, and GPS and wearable monitoring. It closes on interpreting change — whether a difference is real or noise.

It suits strength and conditioning coaches, PE teachers, sports science students and researchers collecting their own data. Fourteen video lessons are released one at a time, with written notes and key terms. A ten-question quiz at 80% earns a verifiable certificate.
