Introduction to Sports Psychology
A free short course by Sportal Corporate — not a credit-bearing university award.
5h 14m of video13 videos17 written lessons
The mental side of performance — motivation, confidence, attention, anxiety, cohesion, burnout and career transition. Free, with a certificate.
Built around the NPTEL / IIT Madras lecture series, the course covers self-determination theory, goal setting, confidence and self-efficacy, attention and concentration, and arousal, stress and anxiety. It goes on to flow, team cohesion, resilience and mindfulness, then to the harder subjects the field often skips: athlete burnout, fear of re-injury on return to sport, and career transition and retirement.
It is written for coaches, PE teachers, athletes managing their own heads, and students considering sport psychology as a profession — one lesson covers what becoming a sport psychologist actually involves. Thirteen video lessons are released one at a time, with notes and key terms. A ten-question quiz at 80% earns a certificate with a verifiable ID.
