Introduction to AI in Sport
A free short course by Sportal Corporate — not a credit-bearing university award.
1h 42m of video12 videos18 written lessons
What artificial intelligence really does in sport — computer vision, automated officiating, injury models, AI scouting — and how to judge the claims.
The course explains how a model learns and what a neural network is before going near a sports application, so the rest is not magic. It then covers computer vision and tracking data, AI in officiating, injury risk and player availability models, AI scouting from both the vendor's pitch and inside a club, finding athletes scouts miss, and automated highlights. Two closing lessons cover algorithmic bias and what to do about it.
It suits analysts, club and federation staff evaluating vendors, coaches, journalists, and students on a sports science, analytics or computing course. Twelve video lessons are released one at a time, with written notes and key terms. A ten-question quiz at 80% earns a verifiable certificate.
